Set Up Your Club Lighting Plan To Give Your Place Something Special (written for Beverly Hills Lounge)

The digital age has brought forth notable advancements in both lighting design and configuration. This means one thing to the average consumer, and something completely different to a nightclub owner. Today's modern lights are LEDs - Light Emitting Diodes - that work from a computer terminal and have the capability of changing color and brightness strictly by programming. These new lighting concepts have changed the way clients expect their clubs to look and feel, and leaving these innovations behind will cost you in visitors in the long run.

LED lighting is really power efficient. That means two things - lower electric bills and less generated heat load that must be removed. Because LED's don't work by heating up a filament or vapor inside a tube, they release practically no heat. One of the biggest concerns for guest comfort in a club is to make sure the place stays cool enough to compensate for the body heat from dancing. Old lighting used to add to this heat load, requiring even more air conditioning in most places to keep the club cool. With LED lighting, not only will the heat and power requirements go down, but so will the costs for running an air-handling system. Less power used all the way around means lower operating costs for the club owner.

LED lights also have the ability to transform the club from moment to moment or night to night. Because there is nothing involved with manipulating light colors beyond computer programming, owners can change the ambiance of the club nightly to keep it fresh for customers. Plus, the lighting effects available for above and beneath the dance floor make it an exciting experience for club-goers as well. Lights from the ceiling, walls, and panels below the dance floor can move, dance, and flicker alongside the dancers they surround.

Owners need to look at their clubs hard and decide where lighting effects would enhance the feel of the space and improve customer pleasure. Everything inside doesn't need to have club LED lighting; in fact, it is more appealing if it is confined to specific areas like the dance floor, bar area, or sitting lounge. The equipment is not expensive, but should be installed by a professional because there are hundreds of tiny wires that must be accounted for, and installation pros know how to do it.
